Answering the Call

Restoring dignity through faith and action.

ATC serves marginalized communities across the Nuba Mountains and beyond with spiritual encouragement, practical care, and long-term community restoration.

Who We Are

Introduction to Answering the Call

Answering the Call is a Christian charitable organization formed to stand with communities facing war, poverty, displacement, and limited access to care.

Established in 2015

Established in 2015 in the heart of the Nuba Mountains, ATC was born from a deep commitment to serve marginalized people living in war-affected and disadvantaged regions.

Guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, our mission joins discipleship and the Good News with practical responses to urgent physical, emotional, and social needs.

ATC focuses on empowering women, helping needy children, supporting victims of war, strengthening pastoral and civil leadership, and developing young people for a stronger future.

We operate in regions that have faced decades of conflict, including the Nuba Mountains, Darfur, Blue Nile, and South Sudan, helping communities recover and thrive through holistic restoration.

Background of Nuba Mountains

Nuba Mountains is a central region in Sudan comprising about a hundred ethnic groups speaking different languages and united by the name Nuba. The Nuba currently occupy the mountainous regions of South Cordovan, with a population of about four million people.

Most of them are Christians and practice small subsistence farming and cattle rearing. They have been victims of torture and discrimination by successive regimes, often denied basic human rights like education.
